S'attle!!!

Thanks to the GENEROSITY of my in-laws (a thousand times over, thank you!!!) Jeff and I were able to escape, kid-less, to Seattle, to celebrate 10 YEARS of spending our life together,
in the sanctuary of marriage. 10 years, wow!! It is true, the days are long, but the years are moments!!

We were on a flight first thing Tuesday morning (and I should mention we didn't see Sanders when they got here, nor did we see them upon our return, so many thanks to friends who helped during the overlap!!!) As you can see, Jeff waisted no time taking advantage of the peaceful, quite hours.

We passed thousands and thousands of these silly buttons, to cross the street. They became such a memory of our trip. How could they not be captured?

We quickly made our way to my second favorite market, thus far. Pikes Place.
(The first favorite being Philadelphia Market Place).
It was AH- MAZING, to say the least!! A feast not only for your eyes, but for the taste, smell, touch, see and sound senses as well. Truly, and amazing site to see!!

'I once caught a fish 'this big''
 Well, someone did anyway.
I mean, are you KIDDING ME?
You KNOW a bouquet this size, in any
other state would run you at least 40 bucks!
They are grown about an hour north of Seattle!

We scoped out the surrounding area from the Needle, and enjoyed the views from up top.

We spend HOURS inside the 'EMP Museum'
Its the Experience Music Museum, and even compared to some incredible displays in the DC area,
this was by far, the most impressive, user friendly, educational museum I've ever been to!
Certainly a must see!!

(Out of all the places, we found ourselves @
Target one evening. I mean, who goes to Seattle,
and does some shopping @ Target!?!!)

More views of P.P.M.
Really? A cheese shop? And, the famous brass pig? Yes, he got a rub from me, but not a dime. :)

Crumpets, now, more then just a dance style!
TO.DIE.FOR.
I can't explain.
Its like, a pancake, meets a crepe, meets a pastry, all toasted, topped, and mmmnnnnnn

Have I mentioned how Incredible the FOOD was?!! These Gyros...make me salivate at the site!!! !

Jeff had to do it.   A classic bowl of clam chowda.
Ohhhh laddie dah, and boy was it tasty!

The waterfront was an ever changing place to walk, with vibrant people, and plentiful art/displays

(I'm just now remembering our trip to target was to buy gum....for the famous Gum wall. Sure did, left our mark!!)

One of the days, we ferried across, to West Seattle (only abt 10 min ride)
Where we found ourselves renting bikes, cruising around Alki Beach, and chowin down some
'Hawaiian Shave Ice'

Mid ride. Oh those 'cruser' bikes are like riding on ice.
The only thing difficult about them is getting use to the back peddle break.
No major accidents to report. :)

Having bikes was SUCH a treat and perfect break from the enormous amount of walking we
 did in those 6 Days.
We were SO tired, but both think walking is the best and easiest way to see and truly experience a city.
Man, were we relieved to cruse around on those puppies!

The weather could NOT have been better. Each morning, it was cloudy, and misty, but by the afternoon, the sun would break through, and your sweater would come off. Truly magnificent temperatures.

So, we went on this crazy tour called 'Under Ground Seattle'
It tells the story of what seattle was before the Seattle you see now. UNDERGROUND!
Its NUTS! Buildings, stores, shops, homes, existed before the main street level that it is now. Where my feet are, on the purple tiles, acutually goes below the ground, and from below, you look up to see the purple light.

One of the last nights, we took a ferry up to British Columbia, to Vancouver Island.
We ported in a little town called 'Victoria' Its home of the world famous Butchart Gardens, as well as a charming sea front, shops and board walk.
We stopped immediately for some chow! Fresh sea food, to GOBBLE, with a view that was unmatchable.

This Port town is much bigger and diverse then I imagined.
Yes, filled with its local charm, also hosts the second biggest China town,
a busting Native America Community, and plenty other odd characters to keep you entertained.

(Out of its order, sorry)
We took a bus up to norther seattle, where we headed to Washington lake, from the puget sound.
Here thousands and thousands of Salmon make there way through 'fish ladders' and consequently lay there eggs.
A quiet little trip, and fun to get off the beaten path.

The courage of the street performers amazed me! I suppose I was captivated by this outrageous woman, for hours, simply because I dreamed, in my former life, that was me. Oh, she was a TRIP, let me tell you!! I wanted to leave, but simply couldnt' pull myself away.

The famous Butchart Gardens. These were taken with my ghetto camera, so you can imagine the glamor and exquisite beauty we beheld, as we spend hours, meandering through its beauty.

You forget how magical the sunsets are, until you are in a place that seems to freeze time, and splash every color in the sky, and reflect its beauty on the water.

The experiences we enjoyed, the scenes we saw, the memories we made
will all but vanish, save this few pictures.
What a unique trip of a life time!
So glad we made it 10 years to celebrate, and here's  to the next 10.
May they be as full of adventure, pleasure and pain, joy and sorrow, laughter and tears as the first ten.
If they do, we'll manage just fine.
Until next time....
