Grannieeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Not that we always love it when Jeff goes out of town, but when his presence is replaced with our GRANNIEEEEEEEE, we are thrilled!!
Jeff left on monday @ 8am, and by 10:30am, we had my mom on a last minute flight to spend the week with us. YIPPIE!!!
We swam, biked, shopped, ate, shopped, played, watched movies, read, shopped, told stories, did projects, talked, laughed, ate....it was PERFECT, and we can't wait till it happens again. :)

Its been FREEZING here!! In fact, the day she flew in, her flight was delayed for 2 hrs from the snow. Grrrrr.
Lucky for us, it warmed up, and we were able to catch some sun on our favorite trail.

YES! We made the ottoman!
Once I had the base and structure built, all that was left was tufting, which,
had I just bought a darn needle long enough, would have been a sinch, but NOoooooo.
Oh well. It looks spectaclrrrrrr and, I LOVE the finished look!!
Pictures coming.

Jeff acting out his best impression of Dora the Explorer, for Cam.
I always wonder what they'll talk about next.

We love our costumes (and warm weather)

We could not have packed one more thing into our saturday!!!
Re-painting the piano, YES, for the 3rd time, and blowing in our own insulation.
Phew. What a day and what a mess

Just the cutest thing I wanted to remember.
Tippy tippy of the toes to reach the water.
:( My babies are growing up so fast!

Lucys mermaid. She plays for hours. (and, bought the mermaid with her own hard earned money)

 Everyone loves cookies, right?
Especially a superhero!

Easter, Part 1

Before we skip past one holiday to get to the other,
we have to squeeze in St. Patties day!
I'm a sucker for a parade, and Jeff's so kind to tag along, so the kids and I can get our fix.
We headed down town for a MASSIVE parade, and they weren't kidding when they said
this green holidays big in denver.

This sweet lady let us squish by her, which allowed for prime candy pickin!

Yes, the leprechauns came.
In full force.
Such a time consuming tradition, to cut out all the little feet (with a paper cutter)
but they love it, and if it makes them smile, I'm game.

We had a bit of an identity crisis St. Patties day morning.
Although, it was such a fun tradition to get dressed up in Halloween decor, we may just make it tradition.

U.T.A.H
Oh heavens!
We are 2/2 with our illnesses while traveling to Utah.
Over Christmas, my children all had the flu, and it lingered all through our stay,
and through the New Year (thats how Hank got the nick name, blizzard bum. We had stopped on the highway, with hurricane strength winds, snow and freezing rain, for Hank to go potty, outside our car. When a child, who's been sick, with it comin out both ends, you never ask 'can you hold it?' Thus the nick name was born)
Unfortunately, this trip was no different!!!
Charlie had thrown up the week leading up to the trip, and passed it to ME.
So, the day we were planning on leaving, road closure storms were predicted, so, having spend the previous day in bed, I made a last minute decision to leave Friday.
I mustered up any strength I could, loaded the car and kids, and we were on our way.
Jeff joined us a week later, and that trip was not without its drama!!!!
Stopping for emergency potty stops, barf bowls to share, but luckily, no snow this time.
We made it!!! The trip was once again filled with a cycle of flu,
but as you'll see, that didn't stop our fun!!!!

We went to the zoo with Grandma.
We could not have picked a colder morning, but as it turned out,
the best time to see the animals in action.
The polar bear was our favorite.
We beat the crowds, saw the animals at their best, and loved spending the morning with Grandma!

I have one word for you.
POT-STICKERS!
nuf said
And, the Sloan girls.
We haven't been together for over 3 years!
As you can imagine, it was wonderful.

The Sloan conference weekend tradition of pot stickers has not died,
and this year, with all of us finally there (minus Jeff) we had plenty to make,
 as well as eat! Mmmmnnnnn!!!

Not just because he's our only grandparent left, but Floyd truly is a GREAT grandpa.
He is a marvelous example of patience, endurance, strength, kindness, love.
We LOVE Floyd.

Incase we needed any more candy, the cousins Easter Egg hunt.
The trip started out very rocky, with the flu and all, but by mid week, and the end,
we made up for any lost time, and really had a super trip!!! !
